Naxos Rock Villa – Naxos
Naxos has held a special place in my heart for a while. When Peter proposed back in 2015, I wanted for us to get married in Naxos. However, Peter wasn’t keen on having a destination wedding, but my love for Naxos continued to grow. You can read more about our wedding here.
When we booked our trip to Greece, Naxos was without a question on our list to visit. While looking for an accommodation in Naxos, we wanted something special and chose to stay on the outskirts (but a close drive to the town). Luckily we stumbled upon Naxos Rock Villa, which is a brand new family run Villa. They have three villas along with a private infinity pool for each villa overlooking the Aegean Sea and the town. The villa is located on top of Stelida hills. The views are beyond breathtaking.
Upon arriving at the Naxos port, we were greeted by Zina, who is the sweetest person ever! She was so welcoming and guided us to the villa, where she gave us a thorough tour of the place and we instantly felt like we were at home! We stayed at the Aeolus Villa, which is the highest one of the three, over the hill. Zina shared some history about Naxos, which is the biggest Island in the Cyclades, and recommended some great restaurants and things to do around the Island.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities you need, including a dishwasher (yes to pretty nails!!) The fridge was stocked up with local goodies, such as fresh eggs, bacon, milk, cheese, yoghurt and fruits. We started off every morning with our Nespresso coffee alongside eggs and bacon by the pool with the breathtaking views.
Daily housekeeping is also included; fresh and clean towels are offered daily. If you want to escape the heat during the afternoon (aka Greek nap time between 2-5pm), the central AC works great and they have smart TVs and endless satellite channels. Prepare to have the best sleep ever because they have the comfiest mattress!
Showers in Europe are very different from North American standards. The water pressure isn’t as strong and the space isn’t very big either. However, this shower at our villa was everything and more! The architectural elements are composed of concrete finish and smooth edges. The size is beyond perfect and the water pressure was excellent.
The Villa was so cosy that we spent most of our time there, we were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn’t want to leave the villa! Our afternoons consisted of food delivery; followed by some exercise in the pool, thanks to the special jets that are installed in the swimming pool to create a current and make it feel as though you are swimming in the ocean. It’s harder than it sounds but much needed with all the eating we do while vacationing!!
The villas are closely located to the town of Naxos, less than a 10-minute drive. Before heading down to the town make sure to catch the sunset by the villa. Be prepared to get lost in Naxos town as there are endless options of restaurants, cafes, boutiques and much more.
sunsets are proof that no matter what happens throughout your day, every day can end beautifully
Being on top of a hill overlooking the Island and hanging by the pool was the highlight of our stay at Naxos Rock Villa. We cannot wait for our return to the beautiful Island of Naxos and to experience Naxos Rock Villa with our family and friends. Thank you Naxos Rock Villa for the wonderful hospitality and a wonderful stay!
