Happy September!! I’m still stunned on how quickly 2017 is passing and that we celebrated our first year of marriage. It’s been lots of fun and we’ve gotten to know each other on a different level. And it’s true what people say, marriage is a lot of work. You will not always agree or see eye to eye but we believe in 3 things that help us maintain a healthy relationship.
- Communication is KEY. No matter what, we always make it a point to talk to each other about everything and anything. Don’t go to bed angry at one another.
- Laugh at everything. Shit will always hit the fan, so ask yourself is it worth it? If not, laugh about it and move on.
- Dates. We make sure to do something together at least once a week. Whether it’s going for a walk or a coffee date.
So, this weekend we had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Manoir Saint Sauveur for our first wedding anniversary. This hotel has great restaurant options and a nice spa and pool. It’s also located within walking distance to the main town. Highly recommend visiting Hotel Manor Saint Sauveur if you’re looking for a mini getaway, only an hour away from Montreal.
I started my Saturday morning with some yoga outdoors as the sun was beaming. It was so peaceful and the perfect start to the weekend!
We had brunch at Restaurant La Tablée and the food was excellent! We got the breakfast pizza and the brioche French toast.
In the afternoon we lounged by the pool sipping on cocktails while our bodies soaked in the last bits of Vitamin D, that we’ll be seeing for a while. We ordered some fish tacos that were delicious!
In the evening we decided to go to the town of Saint Sauveur. We ate at Maestro, which did not disappoint. I had the tuna tataki while the hubby enjoyed a surf and turf.
Sunday, the weather was chilly and raining all day, so we spent a few hours at the spa. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a message because they were fully booked! (I recommend booking the message in advance, if you plan on getting one)
In the afternoon, we visited the Tanger Outlets for some shopping. Some of my favourite stores are Rudsak, Nike, Dynamite and Aldo. Before we headed back to our hotel we stopped at Boulangerie La Parisienne and enjoyed a cappuccino with some pastries!
For our last dinner (I know, I know.. We eat a lot, but what kind of trip would it be if good food wasn’t involved?!) We had made reservations at the Restaurant Le M Steak Moderne. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant! The decor is lovely, the service was great and the food was AMAZING! For starters, we had some oysters. As our main,I had the tuna tartar while Peter had an aged filet mignon. (I know very different form the night before :p) The waitress brought out a box filled with steak knives for you to choose the one you want! How cute is that?! We finished off dessert with a nutella pizza, which was delicious! It comes with scissors so you can cut your pieces. I’m a sucker for creativity when it comes to food.
I hope you all enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. We sure did and we are fully rested and ready to tackle the week ahead!
Happy Monday loves!
